The other day on my Facebook What Katie Ate page, I posted a link to the Gourmet Traveller's article and recipe for Lemon Delicious it looked well, so... delicious *cymbal clash* that I had to give it a try. The recipe is very easy to follow, took me about 10 minutes to make if even and I can attest it tastes amazing; very light and spongy, moist and refreshingly lemony. I didn't have any limes to hand (and it's pouring rain here in Sydney today so a trudge to the shops was just all a tad hard...) - I didn't find it lacked any flavour but I can imagine if you do add them, their 'zing' would be an added bonus.

I blogged a Lemon Delicious a while back and proclaimed that it (Lemon Delicious in general, that is) was my favourite dessert. Yours looks more cake-like than mine, so I just might have to give it a go :)
Looks amazing!
Hi Hannah :)
I've never made this dessert before so wasn't really sure how the consistency should be, I only had the GT's photos on that article to judge by. It turned out like a very light, super moist sponge - I guess similar, but much lighter to that of a steamed pudding.
I will admit I had a small disaster with it when I took it out of the oven, in order to pour the water from the Bain-Marie which it is cooked in, I left the cake bowl in the tin as it was very hot and lightly placed my hand on top of the cake so as not let it slip out of the tray when I was pouring out the water down the sink... Well, as I did not realise how light the texture of the cake was, my fingers when right through the top of the cake *eek* - hence why you're not seeing a photo of the full dessert! *LOL* I muttered/yelled a very loud swear word at the time... ;)
i *love* that second photo of the propped-up grater and lemon zest. gorgeous!
Love your blog - just discovered it!
I too have just discovered you - great blog :-)

Wow what a lovely blog you have, sure to be a favorite read of mine now. This looks so yummy, think I'll have to do some baking this weekend.
Photos, food. Food, photos. Can't decide which I like most in this post... Swoon.
Oh yummy! I only tried to make lemon delicious once using Jamie Oliver's recipe and it was soooo good. How could I forget about this lovely fresh dessert?! I'm gonna give it a go. Yours looks lovely even after the "small disaster"! :)
lemon delicious... the name says it all! looking forward to trying this version.x
Guess what - the other day my sister sent me an email from a friend of hers (I think who works for a food mag but am not 100% sure). The email read: "I think Trissa might be interested to see this site - a few of my officemates have been drooling over the pictures" - and it was your site. I replied to my sister "ah, I know of her site already... I practically live there!" - the lemon delicious pictures here just prove why!
Oh your blog is delicious, in every aspect. Thank you for sharing!
I'm having a fine art giveaway over at my blog if you might be interested in an 8 x 8 giclee original (by me):
