Quick Update & a Few 'Filler-in-ers' :)

{Screengrab above courtesy of the fabulous Mr Jason Grant x}

Spreads from a recent shoot I styled and shot for Martha Stewart Living - April 2011 edition, BTW if you are lucky enough to have an iPad (I am trying to get my mitts on the new version but given there was about 27,756 people queuing for about 15+ blocks of Sydney CBD at the Apple store for the new iPad 2 last Friday for it's launch (?!?!!?), the chances of me getting my paws on one are next to zilch for about another 10 weeks...) download the latest Martha Stewart Living iPad App and you'll get to see a little 'behind the scenes' story on moi - BTW I still haven't seen it! *-*

Spreads taken from this months edition of Real Living Magazine (check out their new website too) and a selection of recipes for the above can be found here.

Food Styling Ali Irvine & Prop Styling Sarah Ellison c/o. Real Living Magazine

(Note - new updated KQD website coming soon!!)

Just a quick update to apologise for the lack of posts in the past week or so, I've been feeling a little under the weather and under strict doctors order to lay low for just another few days, but I'll be back with some new foodie posts and recipes towards the end of next week (all going well health-wise :) Until then, just a few tear-sheets from some recent mag work.

Katie x

Wow katie!! I absolutely love the Real Living Easter shoot. Is that also shot with 35mm? I am always worried that to shoot Magazine assignments I need to be shooting medium format. Your shots are beautiful.

My best, Valery

Is Real Living an American magazine? I just got back the book store and couldn't find it. I would love to get a copy of that issue since we are trying to plan a birthday tea for my granddaughter. I love both photo shoots and recognized the one in Martha Stewart instantly!

Thanks, Eva, for letting me know. I was going crazy looking for it here in California. Looks like a cute magazine and obviously has good taste to have What Katie Ate in it!

Another reason for an ipad, a Martha Stewart app (who knew?). The pictures are wonderful, I have just completed a blogging course and 'what Katie ate' was my inspiration so it was great to read your story!

Love the tea party! I did a Gothic style mad tea party for my daughter last year- it makes me wish I had your photography skills to capture it!
I saw you in MS Magazine! I was flipping through and thought "these looks like What Katie Ate photos", and then there you were on the next page!
Congrats!

Hi Katie,
I left my career in legal/corporate securities (yuck. boring.) when I became a mom, and I've been playing around with the camera, food photography and blogging. I saw your write-up in Martha Stewart Living and thought the pics were spectacular.
Did you have any recommendations for online food photography courses? (You might even give a class one day :) Many thanks for the input.
Continued success and best wishes,
